So, why photography?...
It was a whirlwind romance that really led me to photography. I met a handsome farmer, fell in love, got married, retired from a twenty year career, moved to the farm, had a baby and lived happily ever after. Well, that’s the dream isn’t it?!
It’s all true, except I left out the reality part. The part where I was a new wife living on a farm. A new mother, isolated and trying to cope. A woman who found her life totally turned upside down from everything she had ever known.
So I turned to a hobby that had always been in my life but that was just waiting for the right moment to emerge as something more.
In documenting my life on our farm through photography, I discovered a passion that has transformed my life and I’d like to share that with you.
A few quick facts
My day must start with a coffee and an hour of reading before the rest of the house wakes up. I have three house dogs and three cats who are like children to me. I love cooking, trialling and sharing new recipes, gardening, camping and being outdoors.
It’s important that you get to know me because I want you to feel comfortable and relaxed around me so that your personality can shine through in your photos. I also know that every family is unique and has their own style, which is why I love to incorporate personal touches and details into my photography.
What did I do before photography?
Prior to becoming a photographer I was a Performing Arts, English and Humanities secondary teacher for just shy of 20 years. Photography was a tool I used in my teaching career, particularly for school productions and head shots for programs.
I’ve worked in some amazing schools and even had six years living and working in an English boarding school, travelling the world and taking photos of my adventures. I find photo sessions are a lot like directing a play, and I like to bring that same sense of storytelling into my sessions.

kind words
"Edwina captured so many excellent images of our family in only a couple of hours. She was efficient and made sure we knew where to stand, what to do and where to look, for both candid and posed photos. I am in love with the results!
Will definitely be getting her back to capture our family as it grows over the years."
